Greetings from London!
I will be here during a few weeks for summer and hopefully, I will be able to add a couple of cool things I found during my stay. The next couple of days, I will write my personal journal about my experience in the UK.
Its my second time here in London. My first time was last year and I had come for four days or so, so it was all very busy. I didn’t get to see museums like I usually like to (I know there are so many), but I did walk and did a lot of sightseeing.
I arrived on Thursday afternoon. I was able to sleep the full 10 hours out of 12 in my flight, can you believe it? Last time, I took the express train to Paddington station because I was in Romania but this time, I took a uber to my friend’s house in South Ken. I had 2 big suitcases so it was a good way to get home fast and I did some more sleeping on the car too…oh the jet lag!
A friend of mine took me to a vernissage in the evening, then we went for dinner. She gave me a few tips. I will share one with you in this post.
As I was walking around the avenue my friend lives in, I explored the different shops and stores. One store caught my eye: The Good Life Eatery. It caught my eye because it has some delicious treats on the window.. You know how food sells through our senses, right? The treats were exposed so nicel and it smelled just right! When I see sweets, especially those perfectly glazed and colorful decorating a window, it's like Christmas for me! I resisted the temptation and walked passed it since I had to go to dinner first. Later on, this friend of my told me it’s a good place to eat healthy food. I was intrigued!
The next day I went right in and ordered a zucchini fettuccini, which is basically, the zucchini substituting the noodles, almond pesto, edmame, broccoli, fresh herbs, sun dried tomatoes, goat cheese and peas. Basically, my lunch was a party in my mouth!
I come from a family who loves their red meat, however, I had to stop eating it when I turned 19 due to health issues. I still eat when I’m at a friend’s house since I personally think it is very rude when a person specially makes a meal for you. So if that’s all they have in the menu, I won't say no but I don’t miss red meat at all. However, I must say that I love sweets, but I’m very keen in eating healthy and enjoy restaurants that have this mission in their menus. I was delighted to know that in The Good Life Eatery, all of the sweets are made with “back to basics” materials such as raw almond, cocoa, coconut oil, etc.
It was my first experience at the restaurant, but I highly recommend it. It's laid back deco and style is very welcoming to people of all styles. It's always very full so it will probably be growing soon to another location.
That's all for tonight, I will be updating soon. Stay tuned.

Xx
